  •  Congratulations to the Ladies Track and Field team who are competing against the best in the state at Eastern Illinois University. The lady Bruins have qualified to compete in the state finals this Saturday in four events. Anna Lopez in the triple Jump, the relay team of Sierah Storm, Anna Lopez, Emerald De La Torre and Lily Bosnich have qualified to run in the finals in the 4x1 and 4x2 on Saturday, and Lily Bosnich will compete in the 300 hurdles. The competition will be Saturday starting at 9:00AM for the field events and 11:00 for the running events. Macy Zeglis finished her High School track career in the hurdles finishing 22nd in the state.

  • FINAL EXAM UPDATE: Students, please disregard the email that was sent out last week. The only way you are able to come in late or leave early is if you have a study hall (period F or H; period C or E; or period A or B). If you have already taken a final for a class, you still need to be in school. This is for attendance purposes and keeps with past practice. If you have a study hall and can come in late, you must not be late for your exam.

    St. Bede Girls Crush 4 School Records and Qualify 6 Events for State. 

  •  Anna Lopez placed 2nd and beat her own school record in the triple jump by a mark of 11.37m. She along with Emerald Del a Torre, Sierah Shaver and Lily Bosnich won the 4x100 relay and set a new school record with a time of 50.30.  That same team placed 1st in the 4x2 also setting another new school record with a time of 1:48.15.   

    Macy Zeglis punched her ticket to the State meet by placing 2nd in the 100 high hurdles with a time of 17.14.  She also placed 6th in the 300 hurdles with a time of 53.92.   

    It wasn’t over for Anna Lopez who qualified in her fourth event, the 100 m run with a time of 12.94. 

    In addition to the two relays, Freshman Lily Bosnich beat her own school record by running 48.80 in the 300 hurdles placing 1st.     

    Other finishers for St. Bede include Savanah Bray who placed 4th in the shot put and had a pr with a throw of 9.80m. Maggie Arkins secured 4th place in the 800 with a pr time of 2:36.04  

    Macklin Brady placed 6th in the discus with a throw of 31.54.  

    Libby Huffaker placed 11th and had a pr in the shot-put throwing 8.81m.    Lacey Griggs, Sarah Ruiz, Sammie Wagner and Maggie Arkins clocked 4:53.24 in the 4x4 placing 12th.    Jeanna Ladzinski placed 14th in the 100hh with a time of 20.36.  Also, in the 800, Jaelyn Weber placed 20th with a time of 3:07.27.   

    The Team Finish an amazing 2nd place with 62 points.

  • Congratulations to the Boys and Girls track and field teams for the showing yesterday at the Kewanee Brockman invitational. Leading the guys were Tom Makransky who was second in the pole vault, and Greyson Marincic second in the 300 hurdles. Greyson along with Logan Pineda, Heydog Arkins, and Dylan Hunter were 5th in the 4x400. For the Lady Bruins they were led by Anna Lopez who won the triple jump and along with Sierah Shaver, Rubi and Emerald De La Torre won the 4x100 this same group were also 2nd in the 4x200. Macklin Brady 4th in the Discus and Jeanna Ladzinski 4th in the Pole Vault. The team of Sammie Wagner, Lacey Griggs, Sara Luiz, and Maggie Arkins were 5th in the 4x400 and Summer Conlin was 6th in the 200. It was another great night of track and field.

  •  Juniors: May 4th is the registration deadline for the June 3rd SAT.  This is the last opportunity to improve your score that will be used in Illinois State Scholar selection. You must register online in your College Board account.  See Ms. Bernabei asap if you have questions or need help with registration. DO NOT wait until the last minute to ask for help!

  •  Congratulations to our boy and girls track teams who had the first ever track meet at St. Bede!! The boys were led by Tom Makransky who won the PV and Triple Jump and 4th in the 100. Dylan Hunter won the 200 2nd in the 100 and along with Trajan Raffity, Brody Hahn, and Jack Maschmann won the 4 x100. Logan Pineda won the 800 and along with Hayden Arkins, Greyson Marincic, and Brody won the 4 x400. Greyson Marincic Swept the hurdles winning the 110 and 300's and Haiden Ator won the 1600!

    For the ladies they first place finishes from Anna Lopez in the Long and Triple Jumps and along with Sierah Shaver, Emeral De La Torre and Lily Bosnich won the 4x100. Macy Zeglis also swept the hurdles winning the 100 and 300 races. Summer Conlin, Lacy Griggs, Sara Ruiz, and Sammie Wagner won the 4x200. Lily Bosnich was second in the 100 and 200 meter races, Macklin Brady was 2nd in the discus and Libby Huffaker was 4th in the shot put. and Jeanna Ladzinski was 3rd in the 300 hurdles. It was a Beautiful Night at the track and the boys and girl's teams finished 1st. Congrats again and thank you to all those who came out to help!

  •  On Monday the Bruins Tennis team notched their first win of the season by taking down Mendota. With the Scoreboard showing the dual match tied at 2 - 2, after singles wins by George Guo and Michael Shaw, the two seniors teamed up in the final match of the night at #1 Doubles. After dropping the first set 4-6, the veterans made some adjustments and took the momentum along with the second set by a 6-3 score, which forced a 3rd set super tie-break. The Bruins rolled - claiming a 10-4 victory which clinched the match for Saint Bede. The boys are back home tomorrow for a 4:30 tilt verses Peoria Christian.

  •  Congratulations to the boys and girls track teams for their performances Monday at the BV Invite.

    For the Boys they were led by Tom Makransky winning the PV and 2nd in the Triple Jump. Greyson Marincic was 3rd in the 300 hurdles and Logan Pineda was 5th in the 800m. 

    For the Ladies – They were 3rd as a team and had 1st place finishes from Lily Bosnich who set a new school record in the 300 hurdles breaking a record set in 2016 by Zoe Postula, Anna Lopez who won the long and triple jumps, Macy Zeglis who won the 100 high hurdles, Macklin Brady who won the discus, Maggie Arkins who won the 800 meters and Jeanna Ladzinski in the Pole Vault. Also winning was the 4x1 with Lily, Anna, Sierah Shaver and Rubi De La Torre running and Lily, Anna, Sierah and Emerald De La Torre in the 4x200. Savanah Bray and Libby Huffaker were 2nd and 3rd in the shot put, and Summer Conlin and Ruby De La Torre were 4th and 5th in the 100m dash. It was Great day! Next meet is tomorrow at HOME.

  • All students - you are respectfully reminded that you may only park in designated student parking areas while on campus.  This includes both before and after school as well as weekends.  Students are not to park in non-student areas, this includes behind the power house, the driving path on the north side of the school, and the courtyard.  Thank you for your attention to this reminder.

  •  A few reminders for Juniors the SAT next Tuesday, April 25th:  Testing room assignments are now posted outside the counseling office and have been shared with all teachers. Please check this list and make sure you know where to go BEFORE Tuesday morning. Testers must be in their assigned testing room ready to begin at 7:50 am.  Bring a current driver’s license or school ID, several sharpened #2 wooden pencils, a good eraser, approved calculator, back-up calculator & extra batteries, a healthy snack and a drink. If you need to borrow a calculator please do this BEFORE test day!!! We will not have calculators available to borrow on the morning of the test. All cell phones, smart watches, chrome books and other electronic devices (except calculators) should be left in your locker. They should not be brought into the testing room.  Students will not be allowed to open their lockers during testing or breaks. Students will be dismissed when testing concludes at approx. 11:30 and lunch will not be served. This is a regular Dennis Uniform dress day.

  •  On Tuesday, April 25th – freshman & soph will not be in attendance and should check with their teachers for assignments.  Seniors will be excused for a college visit day.

  •  All Seniors are required to be in study hall period A on Thursday, April 27th for Save-A-Life assembly activities. ACC students will need to see Ms. Bernabei on Wednesday to get information needed for the assembly.

  • Congrats to the Boys and Girls Track teams for their outstanding performances yesterday at the Ferris Invitational in Princeton. For the guys they were led by Tom Makransky who was 3rd in the Pole Vault, 5th in the Triple Jump and along with Trajan Raffity, Greyson Marincic, and Dylan Hunter finished 4th in the 4 x 100 relay. Hayden Arkins was 4th in the 800 and Greyson Marincic was 5th in the 400.

  •  For lady Bruins, they were led by Anna Lopez and Lily Bosnich. Anna set a new school record while winning the Triple Jump, she was second in the long jump and along with Sierah Shaver, Rubi De La Torre, and Lily Bosnich finished first in the 4x100 and 4x200 Relays. Anna was awarded Female Athlete of the meet!! Lily Bosnich also won the open 200. Also, scoring for the Lady Bruins was Macklin Brady who was 2nd in the Discus, Macy Zeglis 2nd in the 100 high Hurdles, Maggie Arkins 4th in the 800, and of course Jeanna Ladzinski 5th in the 300 hurdles. Great races everywhere!
