• Next week’s Homecoming Week Spirit Days are a chance for your class to win (or maintain) the Spirit Stick!  Get involved by getting creative!  Please remember modesty and appropriateness in all dress!  Also, these are not days to “not wear uniforms” they are days for fun and school community – put some thought into your participation!

• Work study students: If you have been assigned to a fall event to work you will have an email from Ms. Bohne.  Those that are assigned to any volleyball games you need to be at the concession stand at 4:45 pm.  Ms. Bohne mistakenly told you 6:45. Varsity football workers should arrive between 6:30-6:45pm

• Student ID’s required for entry into all home games.  If you don’t have your ID see Mrs. Plankenhorn or you will have to pay the $3 entry fee.

• The varsity football players that helped Mr. Hancock this summer with moving classrooms, please send him your verification through X2Vol so he can verify your hours.

• Homecoming Dance Ticket sales will continue next week at all lunches through Tuesday!!  $20 per person to attend the Homecoming Dance.

• Picture retakes are scheduled for September 23 for underclassmen and any seniors that missed their original senior portrait date or are wanting a retake from your original picture.  Underclassmen that have not gotten their picture for the yearbook yet are: Alex Ankiewicz, Haiden Ator, Evan Fitzpatrick, Alana Frasch, Isaiah Hart, Amanda Wojcik, and Angel Zhai.  Seniors that need portraits and have NOT signed up yet in the office: Trenton Acuncius, Anna An, Tyreke Fortney, Stephen Shaver, Quenten Sondgeroth, and Sophia Su. Please stop in Mrs. Plankenhorn’s office and get signed up.

• Today is the last day to sign up for the variety show.  Everyone received the google form link yesterday by email.  First rehearsal is Sunday in the church at 7pm.  Once you have done your act, you may go home. Masks must be worn inside the gym.

• Yearbook meeting today after school in the music room, if you cannot attend, please email Mrs. Griggs.  The theme and the cover will be discussed.  50/50 tickets will be sold today at the football game and the profit will go to the yearbook club.  If you would like to help sell tickets let Mrs. Griggs know by the end of the day.

• Cross Country: Girls won their match against SV and PC:  Winning the girls race was Madelyn Torrance, 2nd was Macy Zeglis, 3rd Jaelyn Weber, 4th was Aly Hoogland, and 5th was Abbie George. Boys: Winning the boys race Miguel Jones, 4th was Greyson Marincic, 6th was Josh Grob, and 7th was Steven Zhang

• Congratulations to your Bruin Golf team the Ladies took 2nd place in the TRAC Tournament yesterday. Making first team all-conference was Breanne Briggs finishing 8th, Gianna Grivetti 7th and Aleanna Mendoza with a 2nd place finish. Great job ladies!

• Model United Nations (MUN) meeting after school today in The Loft. If you haven’t joined the Google Classroom yet, use Code fpoal2c

• Students: You are only allowed to use the student bathrooms.  The faculty and staff bathrooms are for faculty and staff.

The first rehearsal is Sunday at 7:00 in the gym.   Yearbook club will meet Friday after school from 2:45-3:30 Please make sure you have signed into e design and completed the interest survey on the google classroom.

DIRECTION IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN SPEED.  MANY ARE GOING NOWHERE FAST, WHILE OTHERS ARE SLOWLY BUT SURELY TRUDGING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

• STUDENTS: REVIEW the cell phone policy in your parent student handbook. If you are caught with your cell phone you will earn a Saturday detention, a $10 fine, and all extra- curricular activity attendance for a week.

• Please email Mrs. Griggs by Friday, if you would like to be involved in the variety show next Friday.  First rehearsal is Sunday.

• Yearbook club: Please make sure you have logged into E-design and looked at theme ideas.  We will meet this Friday after school to discuss options for the theme and the cover.

• Senior students and parents are invited to attend the College Information Night presentation tonight from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Perino Science Center. Learn about the college application process, FAFSA, scholarships and more! Masks are required for everyone, even if you are vaccinated. Please RSVP to Ms. Bernabei by email. This is a repeat of the College Information Night presented last Spring for anyone who was not able to attend at that time. You are welcome to attend again if you would like a refresher or have more questions.

• Seniors: Mrs. Plankenhorn emailed you the link to order your cap and gown for graduation last Friday.  There are 48 seniors that still need to order. Place your order by this Friday, September 10 to ensure you have it in time for graduation.  There is no charge to you, but it is your responsibility to order it.  The school will NOT order it for you. 

• The variety show held during homecoming week will be Friday, September 24th in the gym at 7:30pm. Rehearsals will be held during the week of Sept. 19.  Start preparing today!  Dances, class/club skits, vocal/instrumental solo’s or ensembles are examples of what have been included in the past.  If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Griggs. Sign Ups will be available next week.

• A great weekend for your Bruin Golf Team on Friday in a Instant Victory Playoff won the Bureau County Matchplay Championship. Stop in the office and checkout the bling.  That was followed up with a Second-place finish at the Rockfalls Rocket Invite with individuals Jake Delaney and Brandon Pillion finishing 2nd and 3rd.

Ø Juniors and seniors that have D period study hall today may sign out early. If you sign out you MUST leave campus. Starting next week juniors and seniors in H period study hall may sign out early. If you are on the weekly eligibility list, you may not sign out.

Ø Faculty and staff all cars need to be moved from the court yard by noon today. Once school dismisses at 11:20 please move your vehicle to the student parking lot.

Ø STUDENTS: Your student ID’s are in you should have received them during your A period or now during homeroom. If you were not here for picture day or you didn’t have your picture taken that day you will not have one. You will have to continue using your temporary ID until retake day. ALL students need to bring their ID’s with them to the lunch room.

Ø Your student ID’s also MUST be shown at any home sports events for free entry. If you do not have your ID for admittance you will have to pay the $3 admittance fee.

Ø Student’s that are choosing cold options at lunch need to wait in line just as the students choosing hot lunch. The reason for this is we only want a few people in that

Ø  Students need to remember our dresses need to be modest for homecoming.  Necklines need to be up and not revealing, hem lines should be down.  IF you are not sure if it is appropriate you should consider a different option.

Ø  Picture retakes are scheduled for September 23 for underclassmen and any seniors that missed their original senior portrait date or are wanting a retake from your original picture.  Seniors please sign up for your picture in Mrs. Plankenhorn’s office.
