WELCOME BACK BRUINS ~ SCHOOL STARTS ON 8/16/2021

Guest User

We will resume our normal in-person schedule with a 2:40PM dismissal (M, W, TH, F) and 1:40PM (TUES) for the 2021-2022 school year. Hybrid learning and/or remote learning will not be available unless the entire school goes remote. If there is a documented health condition or a doctor provides a medical diagnosis that in-person instruction is not an option for your child, Mrs. Mershon needs to be contacted immediately and those situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Effective August 4, 2021, St. Bede Academy is requiring masks be worn indoors by all students, faculty, staff and visitors to the school, regardless of vaccination status. Please note; all protocols are subject to change and we will provide updates when available. The health and safety of our St. Bede Family is our top priority and we thank you for understanding.

The CDC and IPDH strongly encourage all individuals eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine to be vaccinated. Vaccination is currently the leading public health prevention strategy to end the spread of COVID-19. Parents/guardians are asked to voluntarily provide proof of vaccination for their student to the school in order to help administrators and faculty perform prompt contract tracing, follow proper quarantine and testing protocols, and identify those students who may be able to go unmasked in the future. The student’s vaccination card can be either copied and dropped off in the main office or scanned and emailed to Jolene Plankenhorn, our school secretary, at jplankenhorn@st-bede.com.

Before our school or family or nation changes, we must change. If we want our school or family or nation to get better, we must get better. If we want to change the world, we must first change our own life.

All other students should have your locks from previous years, if you do not have your lock you may purchase one in the office for $5. If you need a combination looked up please see Mrs. Plankenhorn as well. All students have been assigned a locker and you can see that on your teacher ease account. Starting Monday, we will start using lockers, all belongings including phones and backpacks need to be stored in your locker at all times. NO bookbags will be allowed in the classrooms starting Monday. Do to our need to continue social distancing only 2 grade levels will be allowed to return to their locker during each passing period. Freshmen and Juniors will be allowed to go to their lockers after period A, C, E, and G. Sophomores will be allowed to return to their lockers after period B, D, and F. At the end of the day the 1:58 bell will dismiss Freshman and Juniors the 2:00 bell will dismiss sophomores. Students should get their belongings out of their lockers as quickly as possible and depart the school. We hope this is a temporary situation to the social distancing requirement and that when we return to school in August we will not have to use these measures.
